ACPM is partnering with the American Medical Association and Black Women’s Health Imperative to support the development of new approaches addressing prediabetes in high-risk populations, with a priority on African-American and Hispanic women. We’re excited to be hosting an educational institute on diabetes prevention at our annual meeting, Prevention 2019 as part of this initiative. Institute attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the three organizations selected to receive grants to develop and test new models to increase prediabetes awareness, screening and referral of patients to diabetes prevention programs recognized by the CDC. These organizations will be using innovative practice protocols to tear down barriers to health and address prediabetes in high-risk populations. Additionally, Institute attendees will learn about the National Diabetes Prevention Program from experts at the ACPM, AMA and CDC, with CME/MOC Credits available for institute attendees.
