This institute will bring together experts in the field of brain health to present an overview of major CDC initiatives related to cognitive impairment. The Institute highlights clinical diagnoses commonly seen by physicians and health systems, and presenters will offer attendees information on successful strategies in the management of modifiable risk factors related to these diagnoses, such as control of high blood pressure to prevent cognitive decline.
At the institute, physicians will hear about ways to enhance follow-up after the clinical encounter and create relationships with the support networks that families need as they embark upon the journey of caring for a family member with cognitive impairment. A clinical case will be woven throughout the institute, helping participants identify real-life situations and cases where the skills they will learn can improve the care of patients and communities. CME/MOC credits will be provided, with further details to come.
