Brand + Marketing
The most meaningful places are those that connect with us emotionally, challenging our assumptions, delighting our senses, or inspiring new ideas. These visceral experiences are the combination of the physical dimension of a place, and its brand. This session will feature stories of four place brands, all located at the intersection of architecture, experiential graphics, and message. The conversation will consider branding across multiple scales -- from an interior to a municipality -- to see how the spirit of the place is nuanced and strengthened through brand. In a friendly, audience-engaged discussion, panelists will explore how brand strategy supports physical environments, present insights from successful (and not so successful) past projects, and talk about the future of place branding. Panelists include top brand experts Denise Korn of Gensler, Adrian Gill of Ad Hoc Industries, and Fritz Klaetke from Visual Dialogue. It will be moderated by Sasaki's creative director Philip Barash, who also serves as a placemaking fellow at the Boston Foundation.
