Patient Care & Best Practices
Early Intervention Service is an embedded service in SUD programs for clients injecting drugs or otherwise at high risk for HIV and Hepatitis infection.
The program’s primary purpose is identifying, educating, screening and testing clients whose status is unknown or at high risk, and to engage rapidly into coordinated medical care.
The EIS is integrated into existing SUD programming, using evidence based interventions and Peers. The program has been very successful identifying and engaging clients with infectious disease into lifesaving medical care.
