Digital Technologies Expo
This introduces the sources, contents, functionalities and future growth of the China Biographical Database (CBDB). CBDB is an open-access relational database, currently with data on over 420,000 persons, mainly Tang through Qing. Currently the standalone version of CBDB (requiring Microsoft Access, thus PCs only) has the most advanced query functionalities. It can be downloaded, along with help files and the User’s Guide, at the CBDB website. There is an open-access online query system with English and Chinese interfaces and help. The online inputting system shows the sources of data and the inputting variables.
