Louito Edje, MD, MHPE, FAAFP, St.Luke's Hospital Family Medicine Residency, Michigan Medicine Department of Learning Health Sciences
Dr. Edje is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She matriculated to Michigan State University at age 16 where she received a Bachelor of Science in Physiology. She was President of her class at the University of Michigan Medical School (UMMS), then completed her residency training, with honors, at the Toledo Hospital Family Medicine Residency where she subsequently served as Program Director for eight years. She was the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians’ 2012 Family Physician of The Year. In addition to being the youngest Chief of Staff in the 100-year history of St. Luke’s Hospital, she was the first female Department Chair. She serves on the University of Michigan Medical School Admissions Executive Committee, and is on the Ohio Delegation to the American Medical Association. Dr Edje has a Masters in Health Professions Education from her alma mater where she is on faculty in the Department of Learning Health Sciences. She is currently founding Program Director of St. Luke’s Hospital Family Medicine Residency and was recently appointed to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Review Committee for Family Medicine.
