Dr. J.P. Verweij received his medical degree in 2013 from the Leiden University (Leiden, the Netherlands) and received his dental degree from the Radboud University (Nijmegen, the Netherlands). He currently is a resident Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Leiden University Medical (Leiden, the Netherlands; prof. dr. J.P.R. van Merkesteyn) and the Spaarne Gasthuis (Haarlem, the Netherlands; prof. dr. A.G. Becking).
His research focuses on surgical orthodontics with an emphasis on orthognathic surgery and transplantation of teeth. He has written more than 30 publications in international peer-reviewed papers. At the AAOMS annual meeting in Boston, his presentation will focus on 3D autotransplantation of teeth. The 3D autotransplantation technique will be illustrated with specific cases, and the results of our prospective study on 3D autotransplantation of teeth will be discussed.
