Dr. Finney is an Instructor in Anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She is also a faculty member for Mayo School of Health Sciences Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Degree Program. For her doctoral project, Robyn focused on "The Impact of Perioperative Adverse Events on Anesthesia Providers in a Large Academic Healthcare Institution in the Midwest ." She recently developed and launched a second victims peer support program called the HELP Program - Healing Emotional Lives of Peers in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She has conducted several workshops to train peers on how to support colleagues after involvement in stressful clinical events. The HELP Program has also been diffused into the Department of Surgery and in the Children's Center at Mayo Rochester, MN. She has presented at various state associations' meetings and at national meetings on the second victim phenomenon and the importance of peer support.
