President
Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia
Madison, Tennessee
Christopher P. Hulin, DNP, MBA, MS, CRNA, is the President of the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia (MTSA). Dr. Hulin has been an RN since 1991 and a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) since 2006. He began his career in home health administration after graduating with a MSN in Nursing Administration from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Hulin then joined Kettering Medical Center Network (KMCN) to serve as the Director of multiple home-based care affiliates and the Administrator of Sycamore Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. During this time he realized the benefit that a stronger financial acumen would bring to his healthcare leadership, so he earned an MBA from Regis University.
From KMCN, Dr. Hulin went to Adventist Health System—Ormond Beach Division as Vice President of Operations over two campuses. After eight years of healthcare administration, Dr. Hulin desired to be more directly involved in patient care. He returned to the bedside as a nurse in the ICU to prepare for application to MTSA to study anesthesia, where he earned a MS in Nurse Anesthesia. He then joined the anesthesia team at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg, TN where he learned of the great need for quality healthcare in rural and underserved communities.
Hulin saw an opportunity to impact real change in care delivery and health equity by returning to MTSA where he became the Assistant Dean while earning a DNP with a focus in Nursing Education from Samford University. He was then promoted to Program Administrator/Dean, and ultimately President. Still a practicing CRNA, Dr. Hulin teaches doctoral level courses in Healthcare Policy, Economics & Legal Issues and Organizational Leadership in Healthcare.
