Clinical anesthetist/owner prosynex leadership
Tom S. Davis, CRNA, MAE, is the former Chief of the Division of Nurse Anesthesia at The Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, and former Chief CRNA at (Baylor) Scott and White, Main OR in Temple, TX. Col. Davis, USAF (Ret.). Thomas received his anesthesia education while on active duty in the Air Force and continued his education by earning a master’s degree from Gonzaga University and a Doctorate degree from Midwestern University. While on the faculty at the University of Kansas, Tom showed his pioneer spirit by developing the nation’s first distance education program for nurse anesthesia. Tom was recently the keynote speaker at Allen College where he received the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
He has served on the AANA Professional Practice Advisory Board, is a contributor to the AANA Newsletter, and has participated as a faculty member of the AANA Fall Leadership Academy. Recognized for his ability to work across department lines, for team-building and values-based hiring, Tom is a national speaker, educator, writer, and author. Tom Davis is the author of Leader Reader 1 – Authentic Lessons in Leadership, described by a chief CRNA reader as, “…one of those books that could transform your management paradigm,” and, “a clear and concise guide to becoming the best manager of people you can be.” Tom will continue his civility in leadership technique and ability to connect with patients, staff, and will continue to teach as an adjunct faculty for Midwestern University.
Tom hosts two active websites. Procrna and ProSynEx feature Tom’s bi-weekly blog article that promotes CRNA leadership and elevates the nurse anesthesia profession.
