Ultrasound education and training is not mandatory. Many practitioners learn “on the job”, and the current educational offerings vary greatly in depth and content. The use of ultrasound in anesthetic practice have increased dramatically to include diagnostic Point-of-Care testing. This requires the use of different transducers and modalities not always familiar to the provider. At the end of this presentation the learner will be able to recognize the importance of incorporating ultrasound into various anesthesia procedures in improving efficacy and patient safety outcomes.
