This comprehensive, state-of-the-art presentation will provide CRNAs with the best knowledge, and solid technical skills for effectively managing anticipated and unanticipated difficult airway in the operating room, emergency department, intensive care unit, and in diverse clinical situations. Preoperative airway assessment should be performed routinely and airway management is safest when potential problems are identified before surgery, enabling strategies at reducing the risk of complications. This presentation will focus on both the static and dynamic approaches to US guided emergency percutaneous needle cricothyroidotomy. Preoperative assessment and planning utilizing US in the predicted difficulty airway offer an alternative in airway management to improve patient outcomes. In addition to presenting the ultrasound guided approaches, the evidence will be presenting supporting both the static and dynamic techniques.
