Discover our award-winning guided tour and watercolor painting class. The backdrop of the "Creole Impression Tour" is between the intersection of the Civil War, the Franco-Prussian War, and Reconstruction in New Orleans. The story of Edgar Degas and his maternal family will be hosted by the Great-Grand Nieces of the artist himself. This documented historical tour includes exploring both Degas houses, the studio where Degas painted 18 paintings, and viewing the award-winning documentary “Degas in New Orleans, a Creole Sojourn”. Attendees will enjoy the Creole Neighborhood of Edgar Degas Walking Tour, which explores references to the neighborhood included in Degas’ New Orleans letters. Hand drawn ballerinas by Micey Moyer, Great Grand-Niece of Edgar Degas, will enable participants to use their imaginations to complete their paintings. The Great-GrandNiece will finish each painting with a mat, plus will sign each painting or dedicated it to your favorite ballerina, what a RARE opportunity.
