Discover our award-winning guided tour and watercolor painting class. The story of Edgar Degas and his maternal family will be hosted by the great-grandnieces of the artist himself. See both Degas houses and the studio where he painted eighteen paintings, and view the award-winning documentary Degas in New Orleans, a Creole Sojourn. Also enjoy a walking tour exploring references to the neighborhood included in Degas’s New Orleans letters.
Bus will depart from Convention Center at 12:30 PM.
Ticket price: $25.00
Coffee, water, and snacks provided.
Accessibility
The Degas House Museum House is a historic home and the property does not meet fully the ADA Standards. However, with advance notice, we can offer at least one accessible route into one of the buildings with one accessible toilet and access to the main house parlors. Please call (504)821-5009 or (504)583-2977 for Joan Prados with available needs, a few weeks earlier leading up to Sunday, May 19, 2019.
Guests should bring a camera (a rare opportunity!) and an umbrella & wear comfortable shoes.
