Visit the West Baton Rouge Museum to learn about life in the rural communities outside of New Orleans, from the days of slavery through the civil rights movement. Learn how community involvement has been integral to the development of the museum’s narrative and six-acre campus. Tours through eight historic structures take visitors inside an 1830s raised Creole cottage, an 1850s enslaved person’s cabin, two later cabins, a plantation store, a sharecropper’s shotgun cabin, a demonstration barn, and our Juke Joint. Also see a traveling exhibit on the Underground Railroad, supplemented with stories of the maroon community in the Mississippi Delta and Atchafalaya Basin.
Bus will depart from Convention Center at 9:00 AM.

Guests should bring a camera, comfortable walking/dancing shoes, & lunch money.
