AAM visitors will engage in an interpretive tour of 19th century urban slavery through the lens of a 19th-century french quarter home and slave quarters. Here they will gain a greater understanding of how urban slavery contributed to the economic and social makeup of the south.

Hermann-Grima Historic House is accessible by wheelchair on the first floor, courtyard, and Open-Hearth Kitchen. We are happy to provide large print tours to those in need and a visual description tour is available with advance notice.
Guests should wear comfortable closed toe shoes and bring water with them everywhere. Cameras without flash are always welcome at Hermann-Grima Historic House.
