Longue Vue House and Gardens is a city estate on the edge of New Orleans. A National Historic Landmark, this mid-twentieth-century property is situated on eight acres of beautiful gardens. It was the home of New Orleans philanthropists Edgar and Edith Stern, who supported the arts, education from the nursery to university level, and social justice issues. Today, Longue Vue delivers dynamic, mission-driven programing ranging from urban farming with displaced youth to a vibrant artist-in-residence program.
Bus will depart from Convention Center at 8:30 AM.

Accessibility
Longue Vue is a historic site with many buildings, levels and surface types. Garden paths are made up of gravel, decomposed granite, cobblestones, bricks and grass. For mobility there is one path that can take attendees to all parts of the garden, though it sometimes is longer than the path with steps, and this path is on more compacted surfaces so is easier for wheels. The buildings that are open are all one story except for the house museum which has an elevator that allows for visitors to see all but two small rooms at the vestibule. Each building has at least one door with no or very low (-1") threshold. There are four handicap bathrooms in the front of the property and one in the back of the property. In rooms where large presentations are given there is a microphone to assure everyone can hear and when requested all presentations can be printed out so visitors can follow along. Tours are given in English but we have full guides to the house, gardens and family history in 10 languages that can be given out at any time. Trained service animals are always welcome in all parts of the site.
Guests should wear comfortable footwear and bring: sunglasses, a hat, bug spray, sunscreen and an umbrella depending on weather.
