The New Orleans Museum of Art is committed to eliminating barriers to experiencing art and maintains a focus on increasing access, growing their constituency, and making all of the museum’s spaces learning environments, inside and out. The museum has recently launched NOMA+, a mobile museum and outreach initiative, that will expand the museum’s reach and goals by bringing the museum experience and interactions with art directly into the communities we serve. Participants will engage in a hands-on demonstration of NOMA+ and discuss lessons learned from the first year of its operation. Recognizing that free admission helps remove obstacles to new and empowering cultural endeavors, the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden and its upcoming expansion are free and open to the public seven days a week. Participants will tour NOMA’s renowned Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden and discuss the role that partnerships play in innovative programming that dramatically broaden the museum’s impact.
