Accessibility
NOMA's building and sculpture garden are compliant with ADA guidelines and accessible to individuals with disabilities through entrance ramps from the street and elevators leading to upper floors. NOMA also keeps an inventory of wheelchairs for museum visitors to use at any time in the galleries. NOMA's facilities and permanent spaces, including building exits, gallery entrances, restrooms, and elevators are identified with braille signage. Additionally, initiatives such as integrating digital interpretation experiences within the museum with our ARTtab stations located throughout our galleries and a smartphone mobile tour – offered in both English and Spanish – allow for hearing impaired guests to fully enjoy our collection.
Guests should wear weather-appropriate attire along with hats, sunscreen, and an umbrella. Typical weather in late May in south Louisiana is often hot and humid with a high probability of rainstorms.
