Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion
Taking the lessons learned from working with Alzheimer's and dementia patients in your galleries, you can build a program that makes your institution even more inclusive and accessible to your community. Using an existing program as a case study, you will identify stakeholders within your community and learn how to build buy in among them to support a new program, you will identify audiences in your community to present the program to, and you will begin the steps towards building your program. Connections was founded as program for those living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, depression, and PTSD. Since its inception in 2015, the Museum now works with over 25 unique community organizations from various disciplines.
