Exhibit Development & Design
We always try to put ourselves in the shoes of the visitor, and for the most part, we tend to believe we can project how a guest might feel about the experiences we plan. But is our perspective accurate? Do we really understand what it means to be a visitor? To find out, each member of our planning team explored five of our exhibits “as a visitor” using the Dimensions of the Visitor Experience instrument, We then compared each team members scores to those of our visitors, and the results were startling. In this session, we'll explore how we have used this instrument as a planning tool that helps teams identify and unpack assumptions, and explore the effects of this collaborative process with the internal audience research team.
