Senior Program Officer

SARAH LEPINSKI, a Senior Program Officer in the Division of Preservation and Access and Office of Challenge Grants, joined NEH in September 2014. Previously, she taught archaeology, history, and art history in universities, held postdoctoral fellowships at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the J. Paul Getty Museum, and was a visiting scholar at the Bard Graduate Center. She holds a Ph.D. in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology from Bryn Mawr College and has served in leadership positions in national and international associations in her field. She has also directed excavations and research projects in Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, and Israel. Her interests encompass cultural heritage, protection and preservation; museum and material culture studies.
