Alison Kennedy has helped implement inclusive visitor experiences at the Columbus Museum of Art, the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), and the Wexner Center for the Arts. Currently, they are the Visitor Experience Lead at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus, Ohio. They graduated from Otterbein University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and received a Master of Library and Information Science with a focus in Museum Studies from Kent State University in 2016. They currently serve on the board of the Gay Ohio History Initiative, as a VEX Ambassador and Advisor for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Scholarship Program for the Visitor Experience Group, and as co-chair of the AAM LGBTQ Alliance Transgender Inclusion Task Force. With MuseumQueer, Alison advocates for the inclusion of transgender and nonbinary people, experiences, and voices within museums.
