Ms. Doherty is the Early Childhood Education Program Manager at the Museum of Science in Boston. Drawing from her background in visual arts and science education, she designs hands-on programming for children birth to age 8 and their caregivers. Ms. Doherty develops training in informal education techniques as well as workshops around child development and best practices for teaching young children. She has presented on these topics at both regional and national conferences. Ms. Doherty draws from a whole-child approach in her work, connecting children to science through a variety of experiences, including dramatic play, collections-based learning, and sensory explorations. Ms. Doherty also spends time as a gallery learning educator at the Museum of Fine Arts, facilitating family art-making activities inspired by the Museum's collection and traveling exhibitions. She received her B.A. in Visual and Media Arts from Emerson College and her M.A. in Museum Education from Tufts University.
