Jenny Burch is an independent consultant specializing in sustainable revenue strategies for museums and arts organizations. Most recently, Burch was Chief Development Officer at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the largest museum of its type in the world and a Top-20 most visited museum in North America. A native of Indianapolis, Burch has spent more than 26 years in various positions within the museum field, focusing her expertise on organizations that serve adults, children and families.
In the last decade, Burch has led fundraising teams responsible for securing over $89 million for annual, capital, and planned giving programs. She organized and launched the Museum’s current $71.5 million comprehensive campaign, successfully completing its silent leadership phase.
Burch is an alumna of the Getty Museum Leadership Institute, where she studied and collaborated with her peers on strategic and financial planning and change management. She has served on panels and conducted workshops at numerous professional conferences, including the American Alliance of Museums, Seminar for Historical Administration, Association of Children’s Museums, Association of Midwest Museums, Ohio Museums Association, and Association of Indiana Museums. She has served on the Development and Membership Professional Network Board of the American Alliance of Museums since 2013 and is currently Program Chair.
Burch holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in History and Political Science, a graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), and a Marketing Strategy Certificate from Cornell University. She also certified in Nonprofit Board Education via BoardSource.
