Program Growth Manager, Co-Chair for the Committee for Advancing Museum Accessibility

Julia began her career in 2008 at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. After graduating with degrees in biology and ancient Greek from Denison University, she worked at HMNS as a Programs Facilitator in Youth Education Programming. She went on to complete her MA in Museum Studies from NYU during which time she worked at the American Museum of Natural History, The Smithsonian Associates, and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. After graduating in 2013, she briefly worked at the Dallas Zoo before returning home to HMNS in 2014. She worked in Youth Education Programming as the overnight program coordinator and curator of the education collection until September of 2018. She now works as the Program Growth Manager in the Budget and Business Analytics department. She also serves as the co-chair for the Committee for Advancing Museum Accessibility. In addition to her full-time role, Julia also serves on the steering committees for the Museum's young professionals membership group, Catalysts, and the Houston Museum Educators Roundtable. When she's not at the Museum, she serves on the steering committee for the Women of Wardrobe young professionals group for Dress for Success Houston.
