Curator and Manager of Collections Interpretation
Brooklyn Children's Museum
Kate Mirand Calleri is a multidisciplinary artist, radical archivist and educator, and is the Curator and Manager of Collections Interpretation at the Brooklyn Children's Museum, where she leads engagement with the museum’s encyclopedic collection of 30,000 cultural objects and natural science specimens. She has an MFA in photography from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a history of archival work in museums as well as community organizing. From her background as a teaching artist and curator, she brings an interdisciplinary and intersectional approach to her work in collections management, education, understanding and using objects for direct community outreach, and social justice initiatives.
