In implant dentistry, we all accept the destructive consequences of peri-implantitis and poor treatment planning on implant position, surgical techniques, and/or outcomes. There is wide discussion on occlusion and forces to respect, however, none to minimal attention is given to airway and its connection to long-term success. A common attempt by providers across the globe is to make flat-plane splints or traditional orthotics. The problem is many of them worsen the airway and cause more damage.
