Generating longevity beyond implant integration requires comprehension and application of variables that create equilibrium within the stomatognathic system through time and motion. The stomatognathic system is designed with a natural resiliency to environmental stressors. The system is empowered by the trigeminal nerve and is adaptable. Modern dental treatments and materials do not have this capacity. Among the most rigid restorations are dental implants restored with crowns, bridges, overdentures, and screw retained prosthetics. Additional biomechanical complexity is added due to the vast array of occlusal schemes and material selection such as resins, metals, ceramics and/or zirconia based prosthetics. These treatments and materials alter the natural resiliency of the masticatory system. Accepting physiologic evidenced based treatment planning and treatment delivery for these rehabilitative and restorative options is critical to the longevity of proposed treatment and the health and stability the stomatognathic system. Developing a methodical approach to gain resilient results is based on the premise of understanding each individual patient’s physiological tolerances and then delivering custom engineered controlled treatments. This workshop will guide the clinical implantologist through the maze of technology, materials and mechanics to achieve the goal of predicable success.
The didactic presentation for the workshop will:
1. Set goals and expectations to exceed patient and clinician expectations.
2. Introduce the audience to physics based diagnosis and dentistry: stomatognathic resiliency factors.
3. Present biometric risk management.
4. Deliver a framework for biometric treatment planning.
5. Reveal essential technologies.
6. Case presentations.
The Hands-on Workshop will consist of (90 Minutes):
1. Hands on Demonstration (30 Minutes): Faculty will demonstrate how to acquire, analyze and apply data collected.
2. Audience participation (30 Minutes): Audience will acquire and analyze data.
3. Group Discussions (30 Minutes): Group diagnosis and application of live data collected.
