In 1985 Janet Levy codirected an archaeological field school at the Penegar site, 31GS55, with Schiele Museum staff, volunteers, and UNCC undergraduate students, thus beginning a collaboration continuing to the present. Janet directed a steady stream of undergraduate students, interns, and volunteers to work with the Schiele's archaeology collections as well as promoted museum activities and functions. These museum functions include temporary exhibits about the 18th century North Carolina Piedmont, Aboriginal Studies Programs/Primitive Technology Workshops, and Archaeology in the Field programs at the Museum's Aboriginal Studies Center. A number of professional student papers, posters, artifact analyses as well as her freely and enthusiastically given editing skills contributed to the professional development of all who sought her help.
