Abstract: The themes of this meeting resonate in the area of teaching anthropology. This session looks at innovative, creative ways to engage students with anthropology and anthropological perspectives. Many of our students are not familiar with the discipline and are not majors. How do we show them the relevance and utility of the discipline? We do so through curricular pathways and perspectives that examine the local and global connections - using technology, community initiatives, service learning, and the presentation of diverse viewpoints. The emphasis of the panel is upon collaboration and acknowledgement of the myriad challenges and changes we are facing as educators, as anthropologists, as students, and as global citizens.
