It is estimated that fewer than 10% of people who are candidates for cochlear implants (CI) have one. What are audiologists doing to reach the other 90% and how can we improve this statistic? This presentation will review the current state of identifying CI candidates and provide an update on cochlear implantation that aims to dispel the misconceptions and outdated historical perspectives that may influence referral patterns today.
