Amplification and Assistive Devices (AAD)
Instructional Level: Intermediate
The Earlens Contact Hearing Aid provides a distinct challenge in interpreting and addressing patient reports and complaints – the device does not generate sound like conventional acoustic hearing aids. As such, traditional methods of troubleshooting, such as listening to the device through a listening stethoscope are not possible. Issues – symptoms and sources – that can arise related to the Earlens Processor, Ear Tip and Lens will be systematically discussed. Case studies demonstrating troubleshooting tools and techniques will be presented.
