Central Auditory Processing Disorder Global Conference
Instructional Level: Intermediate
Program Co-Cahirs: Gail D. Chermak, PhD; Frank E. Musiek, PhD
Central auditory processing disorder (CAPD) affects the central auditory nervous system involving deficits in the perceptual processing of auditory stimuli in the central nervous system, and in the underlying neurobiological activity that gives rise to the electrophysiologic auditory potentials. CAPD is a primary cause of speech recognition in noise difficulties despite a normal pure tone audiogram. This conference brings together outstanding researchers and clinicians from the U.S. and abroad to present the latest scientific advances and evidence-based practices in the diagnosis and treatment of central auditory processing disorder.
