Instructional Level: Fundamental
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is the most common cause of vertigo. Annual costs associated with assessment of BPPV in the United States approach $2 Billion. The posterior canal is involved 90% of the time and repositioning maneuvers are 80-90% effective with 1-2 treatments. Audiologists are optimally positioned to assess for and manage posterior canal BPPV. Our approach for assessment and management of this common problem will be discussed at a fundamental level.
CEUs are not offered for this session.
