An important component of a successful hearing aid fitting is providing patients with a natural sounding own voice. Attempts to meet this goal have included gain reduction and/or increased venting, but at the expense of audibility and signal processing in noise. We present research findings using Signia’s new Own Voice Processing demonstrating benefits for maintaining own-voice naturalness with both open and closed fittings and for different fitting rationales while preserving the benefits of directional microphone and noise reduction signal processing.
