OAEs provide a valuable insight into cochlear function, and have been routinely used in the clinic for several decades. With physiological measures such as body temperature, blood pressure and tympanograms, we expect to obtain equivalent results with different instruments. Should we expect the same for OAE measurements? And how can that be achieved? This session dives deeper into the techniques and technical difficulties behind OAE measurements while providing explanations and solutions for performing better OAE measurements and result interpretation.
