Instructional Level: Fundamental
Mixed hearing loss is not an everyday diagnosis for many audiologists. As such, clinical guidelines to diagnose and treat these patients are not clearly defined, specifically in the pediatric population. This presentation will review the complexities behind the audiogram of mixed hearing loss, the etiologies of these findings, and current management options and barriers that exist in the pediatric population. Clinical case examples will be presented to highlight the unique manner in which these patients are audiologically managed.
