The ocular motor portion of the traditional videonystagmography battery has remained relatively unchanged. These evaluations typically include gaze holding/spontaneous nystamgus, saccade, pursuit and optokinetic evaluations. However, convergence, or the ability to maintain fused vision as an object comes close is not measured or screened. Convergence Insufficiencies (CI) have been found as a significant problem in certain patient populations, namely those with a history of blast and/or traumatic brain injury. Prevalence of CI and screening methods will be discussed.
