For most cochlear implant (CI) users, pitch-based speech tasks and music perception are extremely challenging. Some studies have shown that short-term music training can benefit CI users’ music and speech perception. Most previous CI music training studies have used behavioral or subjective assessments; it is yet unclear about neural correlates for music training benefits. This study examines short-term music training effects on comprehensive measures of hearing in cochlear implant users.
