This study investigated signal-to-noise ratios in classrooms with smart phone app while class was in session and survey student perception of how noise affects their learning. Measurements were obtained in USA, Thailand, Taiwan, Costa Rica and Belize. Results of measurement were compared among these countries and with those found in related literatures. Initial analysis indicated noise exceeded World Health Organization guidelines. Degraded signal to noise ratio had significant impact on the quality of student learning particularly those with bilingual background.
