Exploratory testing on a sample of patients (n = 27) with self-reported hearing difficulty and clinically normal audiograms revealed deficits in spatial hearing abilities relative to normative data. Specifically, deficits in spatial hearing as assessed using the Listening in Spatialized Noise – Sentence Test (LiSN-S), as well as deficits in sensitivity to interaural phase differences were observed. To the extent that this patient sample may suffer from hidden hearing loss, these spatial hearing tests may hold diagnostic potential.
