Vestibular dysfunction often coincides with hearing loss in children. The aim of this study is to develop a protocol to evaluate the effect of processing auditory information while simultaneously performing static-balance tasks. This information can help validate that the auditory recognition tasks do provide a listening challenge which may result in changes in balance performance in children. The findings will address the importance of routine balance evaluations in children with hearing loss and possible referral for early vestibular rehabilitation.
