A case of a nine-year-old male diagnosed with the progressive inflammatory autosomal recessive disorder, familial Mediterranean fever (FMF), is presented. Peripheral hearing was within normal limits, and central auditory processing evaluations revealed temporal processing deficits, auditory closure deficits, and spatial processing disorder (SPD). There is a paucity of research focused on the auditory effects of FMF, and published studies mainly investigate peripheral effects of the disorder. Further and prospective research investigating the central auditory effects of FMF is suggested.
