Hearing aid verification using speech is best practice for audiologists. However, these signals can be time-consuming and have associated negative effects. This project describes the reliability and validity of new signals ranging from 0.75 – 3.0 seconds that can be used for the majority of programming. Test-box verification of hearing aids from four manufacturers, each programmed for four standardized audiograms, confirm these signals are appropriate to use as proxies for existing signals, which would still be used for final verification.
