Undergraduate students that major in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) in the US, predominantly take courses in speech-language pathology (SLP), very few in audiology. As a result, most CSD majors apply for SLP graduate programs with a small percentage applying for Doctor of Audiology (AuD) programs. As the population grows, the demand for practicing audiologists is growing as well. The number and type of courses offered to CSD majors must be enhanced so that more students pursue the AuD.
