Category: Hearing Loss Prevention (HLP)
University-level student musicians may be at risk for hearing loss or other ear-related problems depending on instruments played and assigned locations during rehearsals and performances and too the volume of music and exposure duration. We share our early experiences in a program that emphasizes wellness education, hearing screening/identification, treatment and/or prevention, rehearsal and performance sound measurements, and suggestions moving forward to enhance this budding partnership under the umbrella of a Wellness Initiative program at the University of Michigan.
