Doctor of Audiology Candidate
Northern Illinois University
My name is Rachel Stuehm and I am a 4th year Doctor of Audiology student at Northern Illinois University. I am currently an extern at a private practice in the northern suburbs of Chicago and I have loved every moment of devleping a strong rapport with patients and providing them with the "gift of hearing". In addition to the clinical side of audiology, I have a strong passion for helping develop clinical measures that can be used to assess head injury, using standard clinical audiologic tests. I devoted my capstone research to a study called "Influence of Cognitive Load on Cochlear Function: An Otoacoustic Emission Suppression and P300 Response study" with Shannon Vokac, B.A., Matt Wilson, Ph.D. and Blythe Kitner, Au.D. I look forward to helping expand the field and knowledge of audiologists.
