Linmin Kang graduated from medical school with Bachelor of Medicine and Master of Clinical Medicine from Sichuan University, China. She is also a licensed pediatrician in China and is currently enrolled as a Ph.D. student in the department of communication science and disorders at the University of Pittsburgh while working in VAPHS as a pre-doctorate trainee. Her research interests include early diagnosis, objective measurements, and auditory language processing. Specifically, using auditory biomarkers to early predict the prognosis of neurodegenerative diseases, develop a theoretical framework to objectively evaluate tinnitus in both humans and animals, and understand the auditory language processing in bilingual speakers with hearing loss. Her work in the Ph.D. program has been presented in American Auditory Society conference and National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research conference so far.
