Kristine Sonstrom Malowski, AuD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Audiology at the University of Akron, Northeastern Ohio Audiology Consortium and the Director of FETCHLAB™ Akron. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut and a dual doctorate in Clinical Audiology (AuD) and Hearing Science (PhD) from the University of Cincinnati. Her doctoral work focused on the establishment of baseline normative brainstem auditory evoked responses in special operation multi-purpose canines with an emphasis on the impact of noise exposure on hearing. Her research interests include electrophysiology, neuroaudiology, noise-induced hearing loss, animal audiology and bioacoustics. She recently completed a funded study investigating an audiologic assessment of noise-induced hearing loss in K9 and Non-K9 police handlers. Dr. Sonstrom Malowski is a licensed, board certified Audiologist, serves as the Audiology Graduate Coordinator for the University of Akron, and holds a certificate in Animal Audiology from FETCHLAB™.
